Al in de jaren 70 bracht Stefanus Jermann het bedrijf naar een ongekend niveau in de wijnwereld. In 1881 verliet Anton Jermann, de uiteindelijke oprichter van Jermann, uit Biljana (Slovenië) om zich te vestigen in Friuli en zijn wijnbedrijf voort te zetten.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eTegenwoordig is de leiding van Jermann in handen van Silvio Jermann: de revolutie van een visionair die geen concessies doet aan kwaliteit. Het landgoed van Jermann zich uit over 200 hectare, waarvan 170 wijngaarden en 20 hectare voor de biologische productie van granen. Het wijnhuis staat voor duurzaamheid en het beschermen van het milieu – maar de grootste aandacht zal altijd uitgaan naar de zaken die de wijnen naar een hoger niveau tillen. Silvio Jermann was vastberaden om het werk van zijn familie te eren en met bravoure voort te zetten. Met succes: door zich volledig te focussen op het resultaat en nooit concessies te doen aan kwaliteit, produceert Jermann jaar in, jaar uit wijnen van uitmuntende kwaliteit.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDe productie vindt plaats in twee kelders: de historische in Villanova di Farra en in Dolegna del Collio, beide in de provincie Gorizia. Following this, vegetative recovery continued at an incredibly slow pace due to weather conditions marked by cold weather and frequent rains. With this weather the vines delayed flowering by a week compared to the average in recent years (last decade of May). The beginning of summer brought with it no major heat waves, and the grape load of the vines was optimal and the health status exceptional except that on July 25, when veraison was already underway, a violent hailstorm radically changed the face of the 2021 vintage. Helping to safeguard the remaining production was the weather of the first ten days of August when an African heat wave, which had so far been lacking, helped the hail wounds heal and kept the grapes dry and healthy. The harvest began on Tuesday, August 17, and in spite of everything after continuous inspections in the vineyard we were able to find grapes with excellent analytical balance and make the best decision about their destination.
