Some quick impressions on the 133. PRÄDIKATSWEINVERSTEIGERUNG in Trier.
The flights during the tasting were great. My compliments to the organisation!
Also, it a pleasure to see the winemakers pouring themselves and helping each other in a very friendly manner.

Observations
Egon Müller did not reach his usual level in 2019 (at this stage). For my palate, the Le Gallais Spätlese was better than the Egon Müller Spätlese itself...
However, his Kabinett Alte Reben did fetch a new record (again).
J.J. Prüm was good, but not great! Off course, the Auslese GK and LGK were wines you would never turn down in your life, do not get me wrong.
Willi Schaefer was amazing (the results as well). Same for Fritz Haag and Schloss Lieser. Maximin Grünhaus has read the vintage really well, performing in all levels.
The Haart wine was off. Very reductive.
The WEINGUT FORSTMEISTER GELTZ-ZILLIKEN 1980 Saarburger RAUSCH Eiswein Kabinett was past peak. Some sherry notes... A shame, because in previous years when they brought older vintages there were always amazing!
The Clemens Busch wines were a bargain (again).
2019 is NOT a 100 point vintage (as per Stuart Pigott of James Suckling)...There can not be a 100 point vintage. It all comes down to the details of the specific producers; wines; vineyards course!
Having dinner with my friend Sjaak on two evenings (one before the Auction and one after) was great fun and we e some nice bottles of wine!
